Day In The Life at Prism Studio - Meet Jessica Engstler: Producer
Hi, I’m Jessica Engstler, the Producer at Prism Studio - a video game development company based in Sliema, Malta. Over the past 18 months I’ve been tasked with working on our flagship project - Heptic Arena.
Joining Prism Studio was an easy decision as it gave me the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in the video gaming industry whilst pursuing my studies. The fact that it is based in Malta is an added bonus as it is a relatively small Island surrounded by beautiful beaches whereby on a daily basis I can grab a cup of coffee, walk to our offices and enjoy walks by the sea during my lunch break. I have always wanted to live close to the sea-side so it has literally been a dream come true. Occasionally, I also like to work remotely and since Prism Studio offers this option, I try to make the most of it. Whilst I appreciate this hybrid work flexibility, my first preference is still to work in the collaborative office as I find the setting much more engaging and fun. I also enjoy working with my colleagues in person over a remote setting.
In my previous role as Lead Game Designer, I was responsible for designing current and upcoming features of Heptic Arena and now as Producer, I am responsible for ensuring smooth coordination and efficient workflows across all departments. Whilst demanding, both roles offer a great sense of satisfaction and invaluable experience.
If you are seeking to join Prism Studio, my advice is to embrace innovation and be open to experimentation. Adopting a trial-and-error approach is key to ensuring a fun and innovative game experience, two aspects which resonate with Prism Studio’s ultimate mission.
